‘사물인터넷(IoT) 보안 시장을 잡아라.’
국내외 기업들이 차세대 먹을거리로 떠오른 IoT 보안 시장 선점 경쟁을 시작했다. 시만텍·트랜드마이크로·모카나·인피니온테크놀로지 등 글로벌 주자가 기술 개발을 시작했다. 국내서는 KTB솔루션·시큐아이·SGA·아이씨티케이·인포뱅크가 가세했다.
현재 IoT 보안 시장은 이렇다 할 선두주자가 없어 국내기업도 해볼만하다는 평가다. IoT기기는 CPU 성능과 메모리, 소비전력 등 제약이 크다. 이런 환경에 적합한 경량·저전력 암호기술이 필요하다. 이외에 악성코드 감염이나 해킹에 의한 운용체계(OS) 위변조와 기기 오작동을 방지하는 기술도 요구된다. 서로 다른 기기가 연결된 IoT 네트워크를 노린 해킹과 악성코드를 탐지·차단하는 네트워크 보안 기술도 필요하다. IoT 환경에서 데이터를 수집·분석할 때 발생할 수 있는 프라이버시 침해 방지도 한 분야다.
KTB솔루션(대표 김태봉)은 IoT기기용 ‘웨어러블 방화벽’을 개발했다. 이 제품은 담뱃갑보다 작은 크기에 무게는 수십그램으로 휴대가 간편하다. 저전력 설계로 USB 5V 전압만으로 운용되며 스마트폰 내장 배터리나 휴대용 전지로 전원을 공급해 언제 어디서나 안전한 IoT망을 구성한다.
시큐아이(대표 배호경)는 IoT 보안플랫폼 개발에 성공했다. 시큐아이 IoT 보안플랫폼은 △IoT 보안 하드웨어와 소프트웨어 모듈 △IoT 보안게이트웨이 △IoT 보안센서 등으로 구성됐다. 시큐아이 IoT 보안 하드웨어 모듈은 시스템 위변조와 정보유출을 차단한다. 이 모듈은 소프트웨어 무결성을 보장하고 암호키 유출을 방지한다. 시큐아이는 IoT기기에 적합한 인증 알고리즘을 적용한 소프트웨어 모듈도 내놨다.
아이씨티케이(대표 김동현)는 ‘전자지문’으로 IoT 보안 시장에 출사표를 던졌다. 물리적복제방지(PUF) 방식 신개념 보안칩을 개발하고 내년 상용화를 시작한다. PUF는 칩 제작시 발생하는 공정편차를 이용해 무작위 난수를 발생시키고 구현하는 원천기술이다. 마치 사람 지문과 같은 전자지문이다. IoT기기에 전자지문칩을 달면 해당 기기끼리만 통신해 불필요한 외부 접속을 차단한다.
