ICTK Holdings is a H/W Root of Trust-based security solutions company that commercialized ‘PUF’ (Physical Unclonable Function) for the first time in the world. PUF is simply a ‘digital DNA’ created during the semiconductor process that cannot be copied or altered. This should be able to provide unclonable ID to various devices where authentication, F/W protection and upgrades are much safer.

 

ICTK, the world’s only ‘Q-PUF chip’ technology company that combines PUF with PQC (post-quantum cryptography), has been providing various authentication solutions between devices and networks to Korea’s major companies including Mobile Network Operators, automotive and robotics companies.

 

 

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially published PUF technology (ISO/IEC 20897-1) at the end of last year stating that “existing security modules are fatal to reverse engineering attacks… …and a PUF is promising to mitigate the risks by enabling security parameter management”.

 

The Global Semiconductor Association (GSA) has created TIES IoT security subcommittee some years ago and invited ICTK’s PUF technology as the critical security parameter of Root of Trust for IoT lifecycle management as it provides unique ID’s to each IoT. Brief:
LG was developing a new range of in-home IoT devices and engaged ICTK Holdings to help them develop a more robust device security solution.

Deliverables:
– Worked with an in-house developer and product teams to determine chip security specs.
– Delivered 2.6 million PUF-secured chips for LG’s new range of IoT products.

Results:
PUF-enabled chips rolled out in 50K devices in Q1 2019, on time and under budget.
